A hostel in Venezuela would do very well because of the lack of competition, you have to be optimistic, and also we have something called Cooperatives, being a cooperative as well you don't have to pay taxes, you just have to want it.
I'll show you a little video from my country, Still virgin and without Hostels, and very few Hotels as well, also i could find very cheap lands to make it real wherever you see in that video, or even better, everywhere i can seek for a piece of land... check them out

I think the rise of hostels can easily happen in any economic crisis affected countries... Budget-tourism goes up anywhere after the economy gone bad and everything becomes cheaper! So all we need for the rise of US hostels is a big economic crisis for the US! :rolleyes:

I learned Castellano and I learned what a privilege it is to grow up in Europe. We complain about everything all the time, but being in South America for a while puts things into perspective.
Unfortunately I never made it to Mexico.

Too bad,,,, as one the "guru's" of this page haha,,, i wanted to know your opinion about a hostel in cancun,,, anyway, when it's done u'll have a chance to visit mexico :)
