How much are they making? I've read different reports. I think the last one I read was close to $30 million per year.
Correct, that was in 2006.
If they managed to increase the number of bookings everywhere like they increased in our hostels it should well be over $50 million in 2007.

Indeed. Without doubt, the price tag would be big enough to make it into the newspapers. That´s why I wouldn´t give too much about gossip here.
A good guess for a price (for a "normal" sort of company) would be 10 times the annual profit, but given the recent hype in the dotcom business I figure they could ask for way more than that. Besides that, WRI would have a few other goodies (apart from the good profit): it´s almost a monopoly and has long experience in this market - more than anyone else, so it also has a lot of strategic value. If you are someone who wants to attack Expedia, WRI would be a good battering ram.
