Too many beds?

The most I've seen is 3 beds stacked at a hostel in Japan:

To be a bit more serious, IMHO more than two levels would suffocate anyone who goes higher, not to mention during summer, when any 3+ levels would have +10°C room temperature so you can imagine that sauna.
Also, if let's say a couple decides to shag on the top floor, I bet the whole structure swings like in a boat! :D

I would say 2 is the limit. It's very weird having to literally escalate to get to your bed. Now imagine doing that coming back drunk 3am... impossible :D
That also because sometimes folks stay chatting on the dorm room, if there are 2 levels it's quite easy to keep going. 3 levels the guy on top is hidden.
