If I were playing I would want the drinks to come if the other party wins a state (or a certain number of electoral votes). That way if my candidate loses I'd hopefully be unconscious by then :D
Televisions with movies seems to make Backpackers stay longer in Hostel type lodging.
I think the Ideal Hostel would have three television common areas.
1. One for Sports
2. One for Movies, whether DVD's, HBO, Cine Canal, etc.
3. One for non-English speaking people who wish to watch Japanese, Chinese, Korean or other difficult languages.
I would also believe there is needs for other common area or nooks and crannies where people could read or talk, I truly love a Hostel with a flat roof on top for guest to visit.

The loser gets free drinks?
No, I was rather thinking as default, everyone pays their own drinks anyway, the more they lose, the more they have to drink...
Better idea!
Yep, that's the way to go, especially it goes over just a drinking game and turns to be a competition with prizes on the house! ;)
If it's a free booze competition, there would be a full house at the bar! :D

still got plenty to do!
keycards come in 2 weeks, closing reception and moving it into the bar, install the new TV and hopefully a Wii into the bar, build a few more computers and fix the internet/quiet room, install a new prep surface for the guest kitchen... then we get to start thinking about remodelling the bathrooms.

I'm sure your management will be able to resolve all your problems... ;)
This is what I suspect how it's gonna happen:
