If you open right when the season starts (say, in May) and your hostel is not in the middle of nowhere, you can earn money with it from day one.
I wish I had an uncle like that! Where would that hostel be?

i have this invitation that to start a hostel business with my uncle.
yet, im not sure is hostel can make good money? can anyone tell me bout this ? Although i know it depends ...
hmmm im thinking to run a hostel with different topic for each room. example : a room decorate with cartoon / simple cozy design / sea .... whatever. can this work ?

im from Malaysia. It would be at Sabah - kota kinabalu .
im actually quite worry as i first time dealing with this. no confidence yet want to try :)

Since I obviously have no clue about the business situation in Malaysia, don´t ask me for serious advice. Why don´t you apply for a job at one of those hostels? You´ll soon find out if your boss can make a living with it! ;)

If the city is on the backpacker trail and there are a lot of hostels, it must be possible to make a business out of it.
I think good ratings and good marketing can help a hostel succeed, even when there is a lot of competition.
