I'm sure that I'm too late in responding to this, but I want to give a plug anyway. I went to Mama's Hostel for a weekend and loved it so much I stayed for a month in 2007.

I was in the one on Bracka St.
Any recommendations for a hostel in Krakow? I may be there for one night.

I've heard several people recommending Mama's. I didn't make it to Krakow on the last trip, but will stop by Mama's when I go...

I am sure you would be mentally stimulated by meeting Nathan of Nathans Hostel in Krakow. He is doing some really unique things that you will admire.

My pick would be either Giraffe, Mama's or Nathan's as well. Greg n Tom's got great staff as well.
Too bad the Stranger is closed, I really wanted to see the old one (I could only see the not-too-long-lived new Stranger's). Probably heading there in few weeks...
Btw, I'm probably going to the Balkans in May. Josh, it's outside of the EU... ;)

Budapest is a great place to live -- 10 countries or so within an afternoon's driving distance? :)
I'm trying to go back to Europe around mid-June, but I can't enter the Schengen Zone until July if I'm going to time it right for the master plan...

Well, actually I'm suggesting to visit couple of cheap countries around. Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia... Maybe Monte Negro and Albania(?) as well. Except Slovenia, none of them are Schengen nor EU members. You can spend 90 days in each countries and most of them don't require visa anymore. Most importantly these countries are even cheaper than Hungary or the Czech Republic and as I remember you said something about "this was my cheapest trip in Europe ever", so let me know if you wanna break that record.
Don't make me use my mental tricks! :D

All of those sound interesting, especially Albania... I like Balkan music a lot -- my blip.fm profile has a lot of Balkan music on it.
I wish I could head back to Europe right away, but there's a lot going on here. I think I'm stuck in the USA until June -- but then I'm going to cut back on work a bit.

HA! I don't believe that for a second!

I was almost there, but I just started some more projects so April is gone, and probably into May :)

I got it... too much temptations! No probs, the past two trips didn't give you much chance to catch up with your workload anyway... ;)
(or is it the car, again? It hasn't fallen apart... yet! :D)
