Hola folks,

I have a 40-bed hostel since a year and now we want to increase our hostel to around 100 beds. I am wondering if we need industrial washing equipment. We already screwed one house washing machine when we had just 40 beds. Unfurtunately industrial washing machines are quit expensive. Can you provide me some information if the investment is worthwhile? What machines are needed?

Laundry machine? How much kilos would be appropriate?
Centrifuga?
Dryer?
Iron machine?

In addition the first question of our guests where is the next laundry store. Is it worthwhile to offer laundry services for our guests. Do you have in general inhouse laundry services or have you outsourced. I am here in Bolivia and the external laundry services aren't very reliable and trustworthy. The market prize for 1kg is 1,7 USD in the open laundry stores for walkin clients.

There’s quite a bit of info about washing capacity and the costs involved, although it seems like laundry costs vary widely across countries. With 100 beds it may be more cost effective to send your sheets out to be professionally cleaned. Then you won’t have to spend anything on equipment and your staff can spend their time on other tasks.
