Minimum Standards for Hostel
Hi guys,
Ive been looking for the minimum size standards for Hostels in Buenos Aires, Argentina...... Unfortunately not until i get there later this year will i be able to source what i need as the (camara de hostels Argentina) who designate this info is currently been setup and there is no info online or there is only HI Argentina to go with..., so what im doing is setting up a meeting with the local council here in Melbourne, Oz to gain some standards and later use it.
What i would like to know if anybody can place some links or info below for what their city standards are, just so i have have something to compare against,... i do understand they will be quite different...
Thanks
Steve

Hi Hostels,
yes i mean the standards for rooms, communal areas, toilets, mainly the m2 sizes, how many bunks are allowed for the allocated size.
Thanks

I know where to find bed numbers for some of the hostels (Hostelz.com), but I'm not sure about the room standards.

Thanks Hostels,
ill check that out. Its quite to hard to find information online as councils in general do not post this on their webste. Hostelling international has a minimum standards (ratios of bed to toilets) for its hostel which also helps, but nothing about acutal room sizes for dorms to beds. Ill keep looking
Cheers

I remember when I worked for HI we were told there was a minimum distance of 750mm (about 2.5 feet) between bunks, if that's any help.
