Hello. I'll open a hostel and have a question for location of the hostel because it is away from the city center and I don't know it sure is a problem. To be more accurate it is 6 kilometers from the center and not in the city. Тhere is regular public transport to 22 hours анd the place is very beautiful and has a unique nature. :confused:

That largely depends on where you are. Some cities need the hostel to be in the centre, like Edinburgh, some need them to be outside, like Cape Town.
If you can sell the hostel as a unique place to be, and the city isn't known for its huge nightlife it may not be a problem.

Like you said, there is public transportation to the location, plus 6 ks is not that far if your guest want to go into town for a beer or 7 they can call a local taxi. What part of the world are we talking about anyway? Is there already a hostel operating in the city?

this will be in Bulgaria ,Varna. Ok I will see in time ;). And yes 3 hostels operating in varna but there are on central area in city. I want to suggest something else becouse there have swimming pool, basketball field and ofcourse fresh air ;)

Is there enough of a market for another hostel in the area? Do the three existing hostels have high occupancy rates year round, are they seasonal? City center hostels tend to fill up first, then the hostels outside the city core start to fill up with the overflow of travelers.

No i think there not enought hostel becouse thise hostel is small and in varna has large influx of tourists (only summer). In summer they are full but i don't know may be must search other place .... Or just to set an advertising and good luck :rolleyes:

I agree with Patrick about location is essential. However, a hostel can make a destination for itself. If you can bring up that much extra so your guests wouldn't complain about the city is too far, you can still make it as a good hostel. Prepare for a seasonal operation though.
