What do people think about McCain's vice president choice?
BBC: "Some commentators are calling Mr McCain's running mate decision the strangest since Dan Quayle, George Bush Senior's young and untested pick in 1988."

Thompson: "She's a mother of five children. ... And she has more experience than Barack Obama."...
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty: "Palin is commander-in-chief of the Alaskan National Guard." The state's Guard has about 4,000 members.
From McCain's wife, Cindy, came a geographic assessment of qualification: "Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia. So, it's not as if she doesn't understand what's at stake here."
The thing that scares me about Palin is that if anything happened to McCain, she could end up as President. Her previous experience was being a mayor of a town of 9,000 in Alaska.

I guess they realized that they need more PR to win this election. Obama is very popular indeed, so they had to choose someone, which people will talk about. Too bad Arnie was not born in the USA, he could say his slogan four years later! I want Chuck Norris for President! :D

There was a movement a couple of years ago to change the "natural born citizen" requirement for President so that Arnold could run in 2008. I don't think it took off very well...
Chuck Norris was endorsing Mike Huckabee a while ago (FOX News commentator) :)

McCain's selection of Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska reflected his impulse to reject Bush. As I explained in a previous article in the Huffington Post, he really wanted to name Senator Joe Lieberman as his running mate, but that option was a political impossibility that would have provoked an open revolt at the convention. Karl Rove tried to manipulate McCain into choosing Mitt Romney, endorsed by almost all members of the Bush family (except the president who had to remain above the fray). Rove organized a campaign against Lieberman and other potential choices. There could be little doubt that Rove was doing Bush's bidding. But McCain, resentful of Rove's maneuvering, outflanked him with Palin.

He won´t be welcome. A stadium in Graz was named after him. The name was changed back when Austrians learned how much Arnie likes to have people killed (in real life, not just in his movies; death penalty is considered barbaric here).
