Discover your place on the political spectrum:
http://www.gotoquiz.com/politics/political-spectrum-quiz.html
This quiz will let you know where you fall on social liberties, economics, foreign policy-- even the culture war. In truth, this isn't a quiz so much as a set of statements that you must agree or disagree with. Based on your responses we will place you on a graph--also termed a political compass--that separates social liberties from economic opinion.

Interested - are there any hostel managers who claim that they are not in this spectrum?

My Political Views:I am a left moderate social authoritarian (Left: 6.28, Authoritarian: 1.36), moderate pacifist (-4.59) and slightly cultural liberal (-1.4) too.
Does that mean I'm still a bloody commie? :D

You are a far-left social libertarian.
No, I´m not far left. I´m just reasonable. Homo Sapiens is a species of right-wing nutcases, that´s why the "center" of the political compass is very far on the right side. It just proves our cousinship with the Gorillas. :p

You´re in the Commie quadrant (leftist authoritarian), you can´t deny that! :D

Sorry, I meant that the system branded me a far-left social libertarian. I think this relates to the other discussion you were having about US vs Eurpoean politics and what constitutes left and right wing in these places. As far as I'm concerned such issues as Abortion, Gun Ownership, Capital punishment, Environmental protection, Health care and the involvement of religion in politics aren't even mainstream political issues in Most of western europe - there is bipartisan agreement on most of them (I guess exculding gun ownership in germany?). They tar you as left or right in the USA, but the policies on these issues would be broadly similar amongst the main parties in Western Europe.

Gun ownership is a zero-relevance issue in Germany. I guess our laws are very similar with those in the rest of Europe (i.e. "communist" for Americans! :D).
