Hi--I am trying to do the same and will be in Buenos Aires in November to scout around a bit...
Hello,
My business partner and I are looking to start or invest in a hostel in South America, and are looking for an additional partner. We are targeting Rio, Buzios or Patagonia for the hostel location but are open to other suitable places. We are most interested in a warm climate, and being in close proximity to a beach. If you are interested, or have a property already in mind, please get in touch!
Thanks!

Hi...
We are a German couple and looking for a nice place where we can live. At least we would like to get some experiences.
We are right now in Cusco - basically we go south - that’s why we are interested for your offering. Please let us know more about it.
Here you have an overview about us:
We are an open minded couple, nature-loving persons who has had enough of the materialistic life in Europe. Now we are on the journey to the passion of our life and of course back to ourselves.
Armando: I did run my own company for business consulting in communication and telecommunication for almost 12 years. I know something about management and how to organize things and how to talk with people…
Juno: After her profession in legal assistant she studied health care management in a second qualifi-cation in professional health care. At all she did work in the management for health care about 10 years.
She did develop four big senior residences and she took care of a project for senior citizen home assistance service.
It means we both know how to develop and manage a project - no matter what.
We explore Latin America and we will see where the wind blows us. We will hopefully find one day a place on this earth where we want to stay and where we can say with all our heart: this feels like our home.
We are sure that we´ll meet many new and interesting people who lead us to new opportunities and experiences. We are sure that this journey will bring us many important experiences for life, and we want to learn how to appreciate the little things in life which you can easily forget in Europe and so we are looking for the other side of life.
Armando:
I have had some experiences in different areas. The first was a farm in Germany, where I could learn many things about animal care (donkeys, chickens, ducks, cows, pigs). Also I got my first lessons in how to grow vegetables.
Another spot was in Yucatan / Mexico. I went on a farm owned by a Belgian in the middle of nowhere. There I learned many things about electricity with solar and permaculture. His farm is in an unreal spot. There is completely nothing and he is going to develop a place with a small dorm for six people and two private rooms with different standards. My job was to help with the building and to take care of the papayas, bananas, citruses, tomatoes and all what you need to survive.
Then I was in a hostel at the coast of the south pacific. Here I used my skills in business consulting to develop better marketing and management. In the morning I setup the breakfast (pancake, omelet, fruits, coffee...). Then I checked the bookings, the check in and check out and I did the housekeeping. Also I took care of the jungle garden with the bananas, mangos, coconut palms, papayas and a lot of flowers between palms and bamboo. In the evening I had to open the small bar, where we hang out together with our guests. Sometimes if there is not too much work I went to the beach or in the neighborhood to take some pictures for the new homepage and the photo album in Facebook.
Another great place was in Panama. I was in a hostel with almost 80 beds, with a restaurant and out-door company / travel agency. WOW the owner was pretty busy but the place and the experience was amazing. This place belongs to two other hostels and soon a fourth one!
Now I know more about management and organizing in accommodation. Also I learned how you need to handle "human resources" in Latin-American. Besides these I got a really nice input with a lot of ideas for the concept of a hostel.
From August to November I was in a nice B&B in Bolivia where I took care of the whole place because the owner left for view weeks. I developed my Spanish a little and just did run the place…where I offered breakfast, of course, and in the evening I offered some beer and my special soups and something else. The bread, the jam and some other things are homemade or at least the most stuff is coming from the people who live there.
So you can see, I´m very flexible and versatile. It was not enough for me to stay in Germany with all my ideas. I need to develop all my skills to figure out what I can do and what I can endure.
So I want to learn what is for me the best way to live and what I need for this.
Juno:
She is a brave and confident woman. She just jumped into my direction and now she belongs to me like a part of my self – she is my woman and she will be always around to do what is to do.
For any details or questions – just ask.

Hi hostellover,
I may be a possible investor/partner. Could I please have your contact information so we can discuss this further? I too dreamt to open a hostel near the beach. Maybe we could work together.

Hello:
I am looking at several places and I keep coming back to Uruguay. It is a safe place and a well educated population. It is a solid country with a good grip on the countries finances. I was there a couple of years ago and have a strong desire to return. It is unlike any other country in South America.
If there are others that would want to venture in that direction I would welcome a partner or more. Some of the grand old properties are costing a tidy sum, but still very reasonable. Prices vary from $210,000 to as much as 2.700,000 for an over the top historic building with 30 rooms that could be a 5 star hotel, though functioning as a 3 star now. It has two restaurants with a grand one on the roof (7th level). Grand balconies on all of the rooms and some suites as well. This historic district is premier with the tourists.
I can go high end or just a backpackers hostel. I know of a couple of others who would be willing to invest some smaller amounts, and what ever we find will work. Follow the gut feelings.
Please feel free to contact me.
