Almost anything can be said in a nice way.
Recently the city had to replace a gas pipe that ran through the center of town. As a result, half of the city had no gas and therefore no hot water for the entire day. Rather than posting a sign that said, “Sorry, there’s no hot water” our crew chose a more positive approach and put this up in the bathrooms:

All day people were joking about how refreshed they felt, rather than complaining about the cold showers.
Has anyone else had luck avoiding a potential problem by presenting it in a positive way?
