Greece suffers from an international misconception that the country is in constant turmoil, which scares away tourists. This is a brilliant video to help ease their worries.

Great video... I've been there a few times since the crisis started and never had a problem except for one ferry strike in Pireaus (Athens) which meant I had to spend a night in Athens instead of going directly to the islands from the airport.
The islands are like another country. I've never noticed anything about the crisis there. I'd go back to the islands any time...

Really a great video this is more helpful for those who wants to move Greece for finding a job or buying a property as an investment in the short term but they don't want to go there from some crisis before there. Experience endless miles of aquamarine coastline, sun-bleached ancient ruins, strong feta and stronger ouzo. The Greek landscape thrills, and Greek people are passionate about politics, coffee, art and gossiping. Greece once again ranked on the Blue Flag quality award list among 49 countries.

hmm. let's see. I was tear gassed in Greece when I was 8 months old - or so my mom tells me. I was near run over by a tank during over overthrow of the government when I was a kid - that I remember. I also remember people jumping in fountains , saying 'Christ has risen' and my dad panicking as he had flashbacks to the german invasion of WWII. I was spit on and our family thrown out of a hotel during the Cypriot conflict. And during the Olympics I just escaped by minutes, a non-reported on, tear gassing in the subway. And yet, I go back over and over.
As you can see, Greeks like to protest and react. They've been doing it my entire life. We're a passionate lot. nothing new there. And I can say this since i'm greek. If they would protest less and do something about the mess that their own indifference created, they could climb back up. These are a proud people with a glorious past they should be looking to recapture. But it's going to take them time to accept the inevitable and take back their country from the corruption that has run rampant for 30 years.
It's sad to hear from my relatives about how tough life is now, all the homeless and scared people. But it doesn't change what the positives are the country has to offer.
Go, maybe you'll see a protest, maybe you'll get stuck in a strike (I had that happen in England once too...so other countries have strikes also). Enjoy. there's a lot to see, the people need the tourism help and you can do it on the cheap most likely again, as before the Euro.
