Hey guys!
First off, thanks for the great website/forum! My name is Chuck, I live in San Diego CA and am hoping to open a hostel in the relatively near future. My sister and I have covered a fair portion of the planet and would like to help the traveling community by offering a place to stay in our home town.
We have a bunch of great ideas and I'm trying to get the ball rolling by creating a check list of sorts. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have covered a lot of ground on my motorcycle and would like to have worked on my own bike on the road but many times was unable to due to things like lack of tools and illegal/immoral dumping of fluids (oil). I was thinking that because of this, I might incorporate a small garage for minor work on vehicles. Does this sound like a good idea? The garage might also be used for storage of rental gear like surfboards, snorkel gear, etc.
Anyway, I look forward to exchanging Ideas!:D

(I moved your post to its own thread here because it has a question in it that might turn into a longer discussion.)
The number of people arriving by car might depend on your location, but if you have a lot of people with cars staying there, they might appreciate a place to work on vehicles.
Surfboards and snorkel gear -- sounds like a good location :)
