Starting a hostel in South America

Hello-

My name is Sonya and I am seeking some advise, recommendations, and resources about starting a hostel in South America. We have discussed starting the hostel in Brazil; however, we are open to other possibilities and would love to get information from anyone who has experience in starting/owning/managing a hostel in South America. We have the passion to do this, but we want to find out what all goes into this and what types of challenges we may be facing based on the country we chose.
