Trying to get an idea of the viability of starting a hostel somewhere in Mexico

I am really interested in starting a hostel somewhere in Mexcio preferably somewhere in a colinal city such as San Cristobal or Guanajato or possibly Merida. I've spent a lot of time traveling around the country and would like to possibly establish a business there. I was wondering if I could do this on a smallish budget? (around 50K maybe- a bit more but starting there)

I would love to be able to speak with someone who has done something similar and would be willing to have a chat with me about the process they went through.
