I bet their claim for Ipods are based on the Harrison Ford movie called Firewall... :D
Anyhow, you leave human rights outside when you enter the US. IMHO.
Seen via Gadling on the Washington Post about confiscation of travelers' laptops and gadgets:
The policies are for two DHS agencies -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement -- and allow federal agents to seize your laptop computer and other electronic devices -- like iPods, PDAs, hard drives -- take them to an off-site location and keep them for an indeterminate amount of time, the Post reports.
And there doesn't have to be any suspicion of wrongdoing for this to happen. It can be random and arbitrary.

And you leave your brain outside when you start to work as a customs officer.
Reminds me of a great laugh I had at the Boom Chicago. The audience was asked to make embarassing confessions. One old guy stood up and said with heavy American accent "I work for the Bush administration". The comedian replied "Well, we thought so, Mr President!" :D

Like George Bush said after 9/11, "They hate our freedoms." If it weren't for Bush and Cheney, the terrorists would have taken away our freedoms. So it's a good thing Bush did a preemptive strike on our freedoms before the terrorists had a chance. If we don't have any freedoms, the terrorists can't take them away.
(sarcastically looking at the bright side :))

(They weren't customs officers in the above article, but it's related to the current situation.)
