Ways of creating additional revenue

We are doing due diligence at this stage of creating our hostel. All things considered, we are exploring additional avenues for generating revenue. Including bike, kayak rental, vending machines, etc. any successful ideas are appreciated!

Depending on where your hostel is, try setting up an adventure centre or a tour centre. Partner with local tour companies who will offer a commission from every tour of yours they sell. If you train your FD staff with strong selling keywords (even throw them on a tour so they can sell it better) it can be a good revenue stream.

I have seen many different things that work more or less depending on your crowd:
-organized activities like bus tours / rentals
-third-party referrals to companies around. from food/drinks to touristic activities
-luggage storage before/after stay
-selling stuff (travel needs (toothbrush, water, stuff, ...), local souvenirs (for example, met a hostel owner who would sell incense made by locals in cambodia), etc ...)
