Why doesn´t anyone ever tell us if there is going to be a "change of ownership"???
Especially in LONDON???
London is crying out loud for a Wombat´s.
The Picadilly! 600 beds, A+ location.
We would have bought it.
Does anyone know what the largest hostel in the world is?
There is a hostel in Copenhagen that apparently has over 1000 beds. Is there anything larger?

I dont know how recent. I talked to the owners when it first opened, then within 2 years they announced that a different group was taking over. They seem to have had serious difficulties with their software at the time I stayed there (!). I'm not sure if there have been any changes since.
I've just taken a look at the reviews on hostels.com, and they give a generally poor impression. It's clearly deteriorated. Pity, it held good promise when it started. This shows I think how good management and indeed loving care is needed constantly.

Here's a newer hostel with 2,000 beds:

Their 454-room Berlin Mitte hostel looks like it might be over 1,000 beds too:
