Where to start a hostel (Jamaica)?

Hi all,

I am planning a trip to Jamaica soon to check out the hostel possibilities over there. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of them, yet they get a lot of young US tourists, and of course english is the first language... apart from the mess which is Kingston, can anyone give me a good reason why Jamaica is NOT a good country to set up a hostel? And if not, where should I be looking? It needs to be cheap, speaks either english or spanish, and can't cost thousands of Euro to fly to Europe from (if its not already in Europe). It would be my first hostel so any kind of feeback would be greatly appreciated!

Also, apart from costs, is there a reason why there are practically no independant high standard hostels in Scandinavia?
