Which US airline charges the most extra fees?

No one likes paying extra fees when they fly, and it’s nice to know which airlines are most likely to bump up the price above what’s advertised. The US government did a study to find out which domestic airlines are making the most on their supplemental income. Apparently Delta is leading the pack, with an average passenger incurring $24USD in extra fees.
The US Bureau of Transportation Statistics ranked the 10 domestic airlines that earned the highest revenue from extra fees in the third quarter of 2009. The report offers a variety of details comparing different fees, but it also offers extra help at times in choosing an airline.
