Question about New Orleans hostels.

I am going to New Orleans in June and I was wondering if anyone has any experiences out there. I have visted hostel websites and their reviews are pretty weak. If anyone has personal experiences please share.

Hi Tom, I was there in "98". The city had areas tourists were told to avoid, I did like the Architecture, Music and Food immensly. I will say without reservation the folks of N.O. are amongst the freindliest I have ever meet. I do not know what it is like after Katrina.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually looking for info on hostels to stay at. I was being vague, but live and learn right? Thanks anyway.

I haven't been to New Orleans, but the online ratings for AAE Bourbon House Hostel and India House Backpackers Hostel are both above 80%.

I haven't been to N.O. either, but St. Vincent's Guesthouse has both hotel and hostel lodging which is run by a sweet couple where you can use their pool, bbcue and laundry facilities too!
