Which factors do you have to consider when stablishing the rates of your hostel? Is it ok to do it considering the rates of your competition? Is it possible to charge higher rates if your hostel is superior in quality or hostelers will go only for the lower price??

You can charge higher rates if your location is excellent and/or if you can make a credible claim that your hostel is superiour in quality, i.e. if you pull in better reviews than other hostels.

There are people who´ll always book the cheapest bed in town, regardless of quality or location, but that´s a minority.
