Just wondering what your thoughts are on the ideal locker sizes to put in dorm rooms? That is big enough to fit most guest's backpacks?

I rarely put my entire backpack in lockers. I think lockers should at least be large enough to put a daypack in (large laptop and camera).
People usually don't steal clothes (though the only time I've ever had something stolen at a hostel, was when somebody stole my clothes :confused:).
One advantage of the larger lockers is that when people put their backpacks in them, it reduces the number of backpacks on the floor.

We have custom built lockers fit for large size backpacks. It's dimension is 200cmx60cmx40cm, got two individual parts.
The ideal setup I found so far was in Lisbon:
It's dimension is 200x100x40cms. My backpack, hand luggage, laptop bag and day pack did fit easily. Each locker has an individual security safe built in.
I think the comfort and feel of safety is more important than the actual need of security. Therefore the more secure lockers you've got (please, no banging steel), the better off you are.

I actually prefer your lockers instead of the Lisbon ones. Having them separated or away from the beds makes it easier to get access to. Having them under the bed is nice if you lack space, but if you are getting up early or coming in late and someone is already sleeping dealing with your stuff under the bed is a pain.
