After a recent tour of Tasmania I am absolutely against computer systems run by an outside company. At one motel they said they had WIFI, then when I tried it I was told online to go to the company's website and sign in, presumably using my credit card to buy some time, which I did but couldnt reach their website. Their instructions told me to remove my stored history or something, which is a bit insulting, and I tried this (my computer's menu didnt match what they were telling me to do) and it still didnt work. The staff said they didnt run it and gave me a phone nr to ring for advice, but it wasnt worth the hassle.
At a hostel the computer workdesks supplied by another outside company were an absolute pain and extremely slow, as you will discover AFTER you have put in your $2. (It said it was re-connecting to the internet 10 times in 20 mins!) Again the hostel took no responsibility, although they did have a warning notice!
If you use an outside company, make sure it works highly efficiently, or youll have a lot of grumpy customers!
