I can't even imagine what it must be like to have so much money lying around and nothing better to do with it. We all have our hobbies, I guess.
Stonehenge replica to be built in Australia
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/australia/1582894/Stonehenge-replica-to-be-built-in-Australia.html
"I'm doing it because I can," said Mr Smith, who plans to reconstruct the ancient monument on land he owns in the Margaret River region of Western Australia.
"Nowhere in the world has a complete Stonehenge been built."
The structure will be made with 2,500 tonnes of granite quarried from Esperance, on Western Australia's south coast.
The £700,000 project, to be called The Henge, will include 101 granite stones arranged in an inner and outer circle and a central altar.

Austria is apparently building some Stonehenge replicas too:
http://web.orange.co.uk/article/quirkies/Druids_hired_to_cut_road_accidents
Motoroway bosses have hired a full-time team of druids to build a series of mini Stonehenge monuments to drain 'negative energy' from accident blackspots.
...One blackspot's fatal accident rate fell from an average of six per year to nothing after the druid treatment, where they search for negative radiation with dowsing rods.

(Not sure if the articles are serious or not.)

bit of a departure from our usual 'big' toursit attractions - eg. big banana, big prawn, big sheep, big pineapple....

Perhaps he didn't have the money after all?
Stonehenge replica hits rocks
Apparently as the rock has already been quarried it's now going to be built in Esperance. Unless that collapses too!

there is a full size replica in Washington State down on the Columbia River gorge. Some dude built it back in 1917 out of concrete. It's pretty impressive!

Hmm. Maybe someone should write a World Guide to Replicas and Transferred Buildings.
In the latter class Australia has Captain Cook's House in Melbourne, carried brick by brick from Yorkshire. And the middle of Arizona has London Bridge.
In Sacramento is (or was?) a hostel that was moved bodily across the road. But I gather you can do this in the US fairly easily with your wood-built houses :D
