Partners needed for Rio de Janeiro Co-Op Hostel

I am looking to start a small co-op hostel in Rio de Janeiro with an initial investment by each party of about 25k USD. In it's initial years we can escape having to pay unnecessary fee's to the Brazilian state for residency by each agreeing to manage the hostel for 3 months of the year which is the legal length of residency allowed in Brazil for tourist visas. I need a lot of advice, great business partners and to be in Brazil during the Olympics. Other then that I want to find people who need a vacation spot for a portion of the year, don't mind managing a hostel, have a little hostel experience as I do, quite possibly speak some Portuguese and want to own 25% of a really cool business. hey jacob. my name is Lana. its a bit scary how much your message sounds like something i intended to compose after sourcing the forums for a while...
im a grad student at the university of miami and my research focuses on anti-olympic activism. i am graduating in may and i am looking to move down to rio in october, at which time i would be looking for business partners to start a hostel/co-op as a way to sustain myself down there as well as give something back to the community. im envisioning a very multi-purpose hostel..
id love to talk more about this, hear your ideas and vision for the hostel, and see if we can make this work.

My name is Adam and I recently graduated from ASU with a degree in business entrepreneurship. I just booked a one way flight to brazil for April and I am determined to open my own Hostel that takes an active role in cultivating cultural awareness and improving Brazillian communities. Hey Jacob, saw your post and wanted to jump in. I already live in Tijuca, went through all the hoops to do it legally, have a permanent Visa and open debt free company here. Still trying to figure out what I want to do but a Hostel is on the list. First things first....How are you gonna do this without a Brazilian business partner(I have one). Second, exactly what do you expect to buy for $25K US each? Are you looking at a Passo Ponto or do you really believe you can buy even a small place near a favela for this price? Do you have a fiador? Without one...good luck! Not to sound negative, but I have been around the block a few times here and can tell you that it is not as easy as you think. I am intersted, very honest and reliable, I want to work and make a profit. I also have my share to invest....but, I think you need to know what you are up against here....RIO is one of the most expensive places to live in the WORLD now! Best of luck, let me know if you are interested in doing something here...I have lots of contacts and ideas but need partner/partners to do something that will sustain high cost of living here.
