We are expecting a lot of our receptionists and they are doing a very good job with treating the guests and doing much more then just check-ins.
I am wondering about their wages, as they complain several times about it.
How much are you paying your reception staff per hour comparing to a minimum wage?
Fore example, if the minimum pay per hour in your country is 5 Euro, you pay 20% more? 10%?
I am also considering some bonus aspects to the reception staff according to reviews on the booking engines. I do not feel comfortable doing it according to general occupancy as most of the marketing is done by others and not the reception.

There is no minimum pay in Germany and Austria. We pay € 9 per hour, a little more in Munich.
We have tried bonus things, but IMHO it doesn´t deliver extra motivation. The most important things are: fair pay and a good team spirit. Take them out to team events regularly instead of paying €100 more at the end of the year.
