I used to run a seaside hostel, and we got about seven months for each season. We usually opened shortly before Easter (late March or early April). We were lucky to have long summers with lots of sunshine, so we shut our doors at the end of October. July, August, and September were our big months, with everything else serving as an extended shoulder season. April and May were usually quite weak, but it gave us a chance to give lots of personal attention to the few guests that we had and build up some positive reviews before the tourist season started. It also gave us a chance to find and train new staff, since the majority of our crew found other jobs each winter.
Are you planning to rent different buildings for six months at a time and change locations each summer? Considering the work that would probably be needed to prepare the property for each season, would it be more cost-effective to use the same place each year? Maybe you could sublet it to someone else in the off season?
