I wish more hostel owners realize that grown people also enjoy the athmosphere lol :)
A couple of years ago quite a few hostels in London did not accept people over 35

So you done your bit for society, your kids have all grown up and left only to return for a few bucks to borrow.
Well is it not time to rediscover yourself and that big world around you? Even if you are strapped for cash there is a budget backpacker hostel awaiting you at almost every stop of the way! Plan it, don't dream it!
This site is full of useful info to help you along with your plans, what we used to call 'Youth Hostels' is now refered to as 'Budget or backpacker hostels' so there is no excuse; you are never too old to explore and have fun!

A little story, a few years ago I met and spoke with an 80 year old (YES 80!!) woman from Japan who like me was staying at a backpacker hostel in Queensland Australia. She went on to say that she vowed when her husband passes away she would go see the world, something he was never keen on doing.
armed with only what she needed she had covered 3 continents and did not plan on ending it there! She was inspiring and taught me that you are never too old to discover both yourself and this beautiful blue marble planet we live on!
Me? I am 53 and still LOVING IT after 28 years of discovery! We supply backpacker hostels all around the world with our contract equipment, this being self employed means I can continue to roam;
ADVENTURE BEFORE DIMENTIA!!! LOL
