Hi All:
I'm highly considering putting ASSD in my hostel this coming winter. I've done the tutorials and investigated the software. Having been through two software conversions in big hotels, I feel confident that this is a good choice. Is anyone using ASSD that could give me any raw feedback on the software?

ASSD is a bit like ROS if you have ever used that.It uses a grid system which I found has a lot of room for error. I personally feel like ASSD has a lot of unnecessary steps to close out a shift as well as a many unneeded buttons. Other than that, it's a basic reservation system and easy to use once you figure it out. It's a bit difficult to learn at first if you've never used a system like it and training people on it can be hard.

We actually ceased using ASSD about 30 days after our install. It wasn't working for our hostel so we went back to our previous software that we still owned a license on. It's a system that is targeted towards Best Western/LaQuinta here in the states...but is pretty customizable so we've been able to adapt the hostel business to the hotel setup. The main thing I was trying to accomplish with using ASSD was receiving our bookings directly into the system as opposed to getting most bookings through e-mail/fax unless booking directly on our site. This proved to be less than perfect with their system. ASSD North America was actually a franchise of ASSD Germany and is not longer operating. I'm using Rate Tiger as our channel manager keeping rates and availability updated across our channels and then using our PMS system. Andreas at ASSD is great and very informative...I think it operates a lot more smoothly out of the USA. I've put links below if you want to look into them.
