Backpack Online Regularly Resetting Our Short Term Allocation to Zero
Hi, new poster have been reading the newsletters for years and decided to join the forum and ask if anyone else is experiencing the same issue as us. We use HostelWorld's Backpack Online (BPO) software for our allocation which is linked to our own website Hostel World booking engine and our Facebook booking engine. We update BPO when guests wish to extend their stay or we have walk ins/email/phone bookings. For about a year now we have had an issue with BPO resetting all of our short term (single month view) allocation to zero when we click "update"; well prior to our facebook booking engine being activated and a long time after our website booking engine was activated. This does not happen at any particular time of the day or limited to any one user (we have about 5 active users) and there can be weeks in between this happening and then it normally happens twice within the space of three/four days. We have changed our Cambodian ISP (not for this reason) and this issue is still happening. Hostelworld initially suggested we were using an incompatible version of firefox so we rolled back to the version they recommended and removed auto updates. Hostelworld at one point were monitoring us on their serviers and when we reported the issue again said they could see no problems on their servers, or reports of errors. It's now got the point where it's been suggested take a new BPO database but I'm reluctant to loose years of booking data/trends. Does anyone else suffer from this problem or have any suggestions as to what we can do? I will start a log book to record when it happens/which users to see if we can spot any trends that we weren't initially seeing. Interested to hear of anyone with similar issue.
