British airways have launched a really cool marketing campaign called “Yourope” which gives viewers a customizable tour through European cities in a “choose your own adventure” style using short YouTube videos.
The campaign uses the ability for YouTube users to select clickable regions of a video, which allows content creators to give viewers a choice for the next video that they watch.
The style of videos is in first-person, emphasizing the “Yourope” so the viewer feels more connected to the experience at hand.
The videos are also done in bursts, bringing in short clips in a montage of travel experience. This delves into the Vine-style short video clip experience, while also reflecting the indelible, episodic memories that travel delivers.
You start off going to the airport and choosing a destination. Then you can choose between two options for exploring each location. The options are:
Paris –classic or curious
Berlin –punk or posh
Barcelona – night or day
Rome – old or new
Unfortunately in the embedded video below you have to make your choice and click quickly before the video ends or else YouTube displays a grid of suggested videos to watch next. Those suggestions are not necessarily related to the campaign.
Check it out.
The short-burst, Vine style approach to these video would be a great way to showcase your hostel or your city in less than a minute, considering the short attention span of most people. If anyone does something like this (or has already done this) please post your video in the Hostel Videos section of the forum.
We have just sent you an email with a link to activate your account. If yu have not received this email with about 15 minutes, check your span or promotions folders.
