there is this type of dirty concurrence , when the concurrent tries to keep your rating down in order to be focused on the top , for the hostel bookers.
he makes the fake bookings , sometimes with a help of his friends , in order to get most of the backpackers himself and to keep the other hostel down.
is there any administrative or criminal responsibility for this ?

I would try complaining to the booking engines. They probably record the IP addresses. They should be able to quickly find out if someone is hijacking the ratings.
If you could show that the same credit cards or names are booking at your hostel multiple times through different booking engines, that should prove your case.

they don't do it on their names , they do it on their friends , country peoples names.
And they do it in the crafty manner.

and only after about one month you see your ratings lower
you can't even find out which of them had put your rating lower , because there was no review in order to see the full name of the traveller
there is just a rating which does n't show the customers datas.
i wouldn't call it competition and i wouldn't call them smart because of these tricks

If a customer does not show up, you have to cancel the booking right away and there won't be any reviews added. Also you have the right to charge one night of accommodation on the card.
If you accidental forgot to cancel such booking, you have the chance to report it to the booking engine and they can remove it for you in case.
How do you know if the booking is fake? Maybe they just couldn't find your hostel... It could happen to any guest when he/she expects a large hostel with a huge reception from the street and in fact it is rather a small one with an entry to the building and the hostel is on some of the floors where you have to put clear signs up. Which hostel you running?

I am preparing for the next season hostel's business in one of the Ukrainian cities , and unfortunately I am aware that the moral atmosphere among some of the hostels runners is not really professional .
I think its the worst thing , when there is the war among the hostel owners.
I do not want to give the details.
At the beginning it had to do with a personal conflicts and later , they transformed their enmity to the business field.
Of course , it has nothing to do with a famous Ukrainian hospitality , it has nothing to do with a hostels names.
It has to do with the morality of one of the hostel owners.
My question was about the legal aid which I can look for , in this possible case.

Forget the law. You just cancel no-show bookings right away. If the booking is cancelled in time, no review submission is possible.

No bastard can do a joke with me any more !
I would like to tell about another attempt to send me a fake booking from the fake booker.
The same one who did not show up and put me 20 percent of rating has made a n attempt to book my another apart-hostel again.
But this time I wasn't a fool.
I pressed the button - ''relocate beds'' and obviously wrote down that the person did not show up and the fake booker already had no access to the review !

in the cities where there is a big competition , some bad evilwishers want to put you down by lowering your rating.

First things first. Understand what a no show fee is. It is the amount that is equal to the first night stay that the guest would pay.
When does it apply? Whenever the guest fails to notify the hostel 24 hours before the check in, that he will not make it.
How to charge the no show? If the booking is made through one of the booking engines you can access the credit card info since the customer had paid 10% deposit online. Make your research, you will find it pretty easy.
One thing though, pay lots of attention who do you charge. Sometimes it happens that the person actually cancelles the booking through HW but you might not take it into considerations as the subject of the notification that you received was similar to the confirmation. Be cautious.
