Experience with Cloudbed PMS?

Hey everyone,
I am currently looking for a new PMS and I have already tried out a lot of different solutions. I also found Cloudbeds and their staff presented it to me. It looks actually really promising and since the owners also own MyAllocator, a channel manager is integrated in this cloud based software.
Does anyone work with Cloudbeds? How do you like it? I would definitely appreciate any feedback!!

I got a brief overview of CloudBeds, and from what I saw it looked great. I haven't had a chance to test it out for my hostel yet though. When I do I'll post some observations here.

I understand that they are more popular among hostels in South America. Perhaps some of those hostels could chime in and tell us what they think?

I also saw the presentation and it actually looks very promising. Currently I tend to take ibelsa.rooms, but it's good to have an alternative.

Hey folks, this is Adam, CEO of Cloudbeds. We've been pouring our energy into adding more and more features to myfrontdesk, our PMS. Here are some of the changes we made in July:
New User Interface: We updated the user interface across the entire myfrontdesk application. See here for details of the new views.
Currency format: You can now choose a currency format from the preferences page. The following formats will be available to choose from: 1000.00 / 1000,00 / 1.000,00 / 1,000.00 / 1 000,00 / 1 000.00.
Demo Accounts: New customers can now create a demo account and play around for 30 days. The demo account is populated with sample data to make the experience more real. There is no need to tweak with the settings.
Take a Photo of Guest or Upload: You can now take photos of your guests right from your front desk. Under ‘Customers’ menu item, select the button ‘Take Photo’ to activate a camera connected to the same device running myfrontdesk. Select ‘Upload Photo’ to select a photo file from your hard drive and upload it to myfrontdesk.
Payment Processing: Cloudbeds will now allow property to connect directly to a payment gateway for credit card validation, authorization and capture (processing transaction). To use this feature, the property must have an existing relationship / contract with one of the following supported payment gateways: Authorize.net; CyberSource ; Elavon; Litle & Co; Merchant e-Solutions; QuickBooks Merchant Services; Six Payment Services; USA ePay; Chase NetConnect; FirstData Global; Moneris eSelect Plus; NMI; Orbital Paymentech; PayPal Payflow Pro; Stripe.

Beware! They will say anything to lead you into the contract with promises of help and what they are going to have available but haven't yet figured out. Don't expect to import anything unless you are willing to spend hours doing it yourself.
They lead you to believe they will help, then only to lay it on that it isn't their responsibility to import but you suddenly need to figure out their programming, which commas to put in which spaces to indicate rates or their terms to fit into their system is virtually impossible.
We tried spent several hours and several sessions with several reps without any success beyond promises. Worst of the worst is their gracious, open and willingness to help sentiments don't fall from the finance department tree, they will hook you for everything and consider the contract breached because they have their system online for you. If you're too stupid to install it then you're still obligated.
I never had any part successfully or completely set up and they charged me the first month which a representative tried to push back knowing when you pay for something you get nothing from you dissolve all trust with them. They are gracious enough then not to charge the entire year for their contract that they never fulfilled their end of the promises to help get setup and only charged 3 mos of the year as a cancellation fee for something never set up, available or used at all. Not to mention the time and efforts put into attempting to do the setup the way they think it should go.
They are beyond the clouds, maybe heading in a good direction but if you go into this with their terms be warned it won't be their fault only yours and you'll pay regardless. This was not a first attempt but was dumber than the first when the contract was pushed but discovering not all the features they want are not actually working but rather in the process.. it's only a good dream and hopeful thinking. Run your business on that and you'll be left in the dust. Good luck if you get hooked in and check the reports at the BBB before you get into bed with these cloud blowers.

We've been using Cloudbeds since December (78 beds, scaling up to 150 later in the year), and it by and large works really well. My issues are pretty small in the big scale of things; mostly centred around reporting etc. We started out fresh, so didn't have to do any importing, which I understand is a huge problem regardless of where you go/who you move to. No two systems are alike, so the easiest is almost to manually do it I've heard.

If you are looking for a different PMS that gieves you better value, you may find Cloud Hote ERP developed by my team interesting.
