Greetings from the Jombo Hostel (Stockholm)
You see the thing in the moment you walk out of the terminal. It didn´t look far, so I decided against the shuttle bus and walked. It turned out it´s in the other side of a highway, so it took some detours to get there.
I arrived at 2 pm, just in time to see a nice sunset.
This is my room:
A "family room" (for a small family of small people!)
Bathroom, emergency exit

conference room on the upper deck:

I think nobody has to work for a pittance in Sweden.
I wonder how much hostel reception staff get paid in general in Sweden? Is it more or less than in other countries?

There´s no cleaning staff. The morning receptionist cleaned the rooms. And checked out guests. And checked reservations. And served breakfast. And served drinks to guests (it´s a public café as well, there are many people stopping by for a coffee, just to have a look at the place). And had to deal with a Brazilian TV crew who interviewed her and filmed in the place. She looked a bit desperate sometimes, but handled the stress very well.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, finally an inside look at the Jumbo's! :D
Do you think this is the same way during summer or just now during off season?

Good question. The summer season is very short in Sweden. I think this hostel almost never fills up. I think hardly anyone stays longer than one night. It is close to the airport, but just too far from anything else.

That was really cool. I watched the process of the move and the building of it . Its amazing what theyve done. Thanks for the pics!

We've seen the hostel on the airplane.
Now it is time for someone to open a hostel on an old train :D I think it would be fun to use an old train with sleeper cars as a hotel. The rooms can be for 1, 2 or 4 people.
Anyone ready to start the project??
