A hostel bar will fix the problem! Or at least good common space, where they feel welcome to hang out.
Hi everybody, I work as a Nighty in a Hostel in Berlin,I 'am sorry my english is not perferct, but I 'll try to do my best to transmit my demand correctly.
Actually as in the most hostels in Berlin, during the week , the hostels are almost full with classes, in order to know better the history of berlin.
although we inform them about the silence after 22:00 by recommending them our Gameroom, they continue doing a lot of noise in their room or at the corridors, so that they disturb the other guests.
Ofcourse we have a security by night , who has to go along all the flours and guarantee the silence.
My demand is, if someone of you has been confronted with the same problem and can suggest:confused: any idea how to bring the pupils from their room and entertaining them , I mean they entertain their selves at the bar or in the game room, so that we minimize the noise at the corridors:mad: and in their rooms
thank you very much:)

Actually , we have a large bar and we play good musik :p(suits to their age), you know, they are teenager, and generally they d'ont enough money to hang out in the bar and drink something, so that they prefere get together in one room, which result in screeming or loud laughing
They drive me away sometimes

Some clear and big signs of Quite in the dorm rooms should fix that. Perhaps your bar is a bit expensive?

I used to work as a counsellor in a boarding school. So I speak from education experience here.
I had the same problem with teenagers not wanting to go to sleep and being loud and obnoxious. I usually got them quit with the treat of a punishment. You can`t do that in a hostel. But what works really great is when one the other teenagers complains about to much noise and wanting to go to sleep directly to them. They usually have consideration for their peers.
Having free entertainment like movies, poker night, games nights will keep them at of their rooms aswell.

School groups have to be treated differently from normal guests. Luckily they usually have teachers or other chaperons who are responsible for them and for their behavior. Talk to the adults in charge of them and let THEM be the bad guys who do the disciplining while you can be the fun one who organizes activities like Icaruss suggested. It's like being their favorite uncle. :D
