Well, when you do start one, give me a shout! I desperately want to move to SF! And I think starting a hostel would be fantastic. (i could not possibly invest, unless you take monopoly money) but I'm sure it would be helpful to have a dedicated, full time staff member helping you set the place up and who your able to depend on.
