I am currently looking for a passport/ID scan solution. Basically I need an OCR Scanner which exports the data into csv/txt/xml/xls so that I can upload it to the Migration page.
There are currently lots of solutions like PassportScan etc. with different software and hardware. We are very small hostel and don't need a state of the art solution. What are you're experiences with these scanners and softwares? What works best for you?

If your flow is simple, Hostellers do that for free with express checkin where guests capture their ID and prefill their info. It doesn't sync up automaticaly with PMS yet though (but I'm working on that :))
Also checkout civitfun.com which may do it that in a more detailed way.

FrontDesk Master recently announced that they will integrate a passport/ID scanner that directly imports the data into their PMS and populates the appropriate fields. I don't know if those data can be exported in other formats though. We haven't seen it in action yet, but I'm eager to try it out.

Our software already has an integrated passport scanner. It also works for credit cards and ID's. www.hosteloffice.com

Hey! Many options are available, like PassportS can, but knowing which one will work best for your small hostel can take time.

I've used a few different scanners and software in the past, and one that I recommend for small businesses is Prime ID Scanner (https://www.idanalyzer.com/products/prime-id-scanner.html). It's easy to use and can export data into different formats. It's always worth exploring other options and trying them out to see which works best for you.
