I'm looking for a company that can provide complete key card and locker systems. I.e., one key card opens up the front door, the guest's room, and the guest's locker.
I'm looking at companies mentioned in other forum threads:

I had been leaning towards using a card system before going there, and that hostel sealed the deal for me.
A system like that would be a pretty big (probably unnecessary) expense for a small hostel, but I really think it's a great way to control guest access.
Has anybody tried using fingerprint-based access control systems? I guess that would get rid of lost cards related problems. But maybe it would make registering guest too cumbersome (?).

I think many people have a natural aversion to getting mass fingerprinted. Even if 90% of the guests are okay with it, that leaves 1 out of 10 guests who are going to be uncomfortable with it...

Have you considered SimonsVoss Technologies? We have locks for all types of building openings that do not require modifications to the doors or frame, are completely wireless AND have the longest battery life in the industry. We also have a line of locks that can be used with lockers. All locks provide time and date control, audit logs, and use the same credentials.
Fingerprint readers and credentials are also available although I agree with a previous contributor that you will find some people who will object to that technology and there are some people for whom this technology just doesn't work very well.

While my partner is intersted in pad lock lockers, I would rather find extra funding to get touchpad lockers, as I do not believe that flashpackers in the US woudl be turned on by the idea of bringing or purchasing a padlock. Right??
