I'm making a website for a hostel down here in portugal.
As right now the whole hostel is managed on paper we want to change that, get an online-booking-tool into the website as well as having an online tool to do the booking-organization.
Following things are important:
- it has to be an online tool
- possible to integrate a booking button or form into the website
- possiblity of booking beds and rooms (as there are some rooms with beds which are rented out seperatly as well as for example double rooms which will be rented out as one room)
- Calender-view
- possiblity to enter bookings which come in per email or phone
- seasonal prices
- additional notes to be put in at bookings
- channel-management
(to hostelworld, hostebookers, hostelclub, booking.com)
- direct onlinepayment after boking (or part-prepayment)
- selling extras (like board-rental)
- perhaps different languages
- no commissions on sales
- not to high mothly costs as the hostel is renting out beds quit cheap as well
- easy to work with
do you know anything like that?
do you have already worked with some and can tell me how you like it - what is good / what is bed, etc. ?

Thanks for the info!
I checked that out already - the problem is there that it doesn't have a paymentsystem and we really want to integrate one , because it would be a lot of work to do by hand if there wasn't one.
The 2 hostels you talk about - how do they do it with payment - are they not asking for any deposit or prepayment to be sure the people come really?

I use MaxBooking linked to MyAllocator (Channel Manager) which I link to Loventis (PMS)
Max has a booking button which is Free
MyAllocator only £10 pm
Loventis Free but graded price if bigger hostel

The Loventis PMS is free but if you want t the onlinebooking-Channelmanager-avaiability it costs PMS+CRS 35,- (with link)
plus the account of myallocator of 12,-/month
so we are on 47,-/month
and then additionally we would need the maxbooking-system which is not free - 1,5,- for the customer or 1,- for the hostel per booking... where we would loose on both parts because we don't want to get higher with the prices...
is it possible to use the Loventis PMS without the CRS but with the myallocator - I don't really understand the system perfectly right yet.

in the category 40-59 beds (with link) the price for Loventis is:
either: 35€ per month for monthly payment
or: 30€ per month for 3-month payment
or: 25€ per month for 6-month payment
or: 20€ per month for 12-month payment
the price includes service and support.
you can test Loventis for free (as long as you do not use it productively; minimum 1 month)
Loventis PMS is a free standalone Hostel Software. That means that it can do everything that the non-free version can do except to synchronize Myallocator and the booking channels.
