Hi Hostelmanagement community,
I am looking to set up my first hostel, but rather than going at it alone, I would love to have a business partner, who could join me on this path.
I am 22, half-British-half-Austrtalian and have just graduated from University. I love having fun, sociallising, cooking, travelling and business. I am very good at coming up with ideas, being creative, innovating etc. But not so good at implementing my ideas. Therefore an ideal partner would be great with implementation of ideas.
I am ideally looking for someone with similar interests and ideals to me. I have a few ideas of places for the hostel to be, but am also very open to other suggestions. I am thinking ideally of a medium size hostel 60-120 beds.
I envisage the partnership to be 50-50, with each partner investing between 15 and 20 thousand euros. I also envisage both partners being involved in the managing and running of the hostel during the set-up phase and the later potentially getting a management team on board to run it for us.
I am pretty ambitious and am aiming to develop a proper hostel brand with multiple locations across the world. If you are interested in working together please hit me up with a message and we can talk further on Skype and take it from there.

Hi Guys,
I am Greek and I have the same idea.
I have found a building and have started construction. Expect to be done after Christmass 2014. Unfortunately startup cost is over 20-40 thousand euros but I am in good spirit.
Looking for a partner. The building is in downtown Athens in a hot location with rooftop and road views of Akropolis etc.
I am can not change location of Athens Greece but I have also another location that will be satelite to the Athens Hostel on an island.
If anybody is interested if only to exchange ideas I am very open.

Hey Guys, I am from Peru. I already have 2 hostels in Peru which average living expense is in an average position in the world. Said that, I think that after starting 2 hostels, I can tell you that a nice hostel will cost you way more than you are expecting. I have invested around US$350,000 in each hostel I have started (around 100 beds each). Thats in Peru, though, without buying land, just renting a place.
Anyway, I have an opportunity for you guys to study. My hostel in Lima,Peru (beach is close-peru has one of the best waves in the world) is TOP CHOICE in Lonely Planet and is almost above 70% occupancy rate all year round. I want to rent-franchise the bar at the hostel because I want to just concentrate in the hostel and not in the bar. Right now it is been run by a friend, but he is not doing a good job. Sales per month should be US$17,000 and they are just around US$5,000. My friend is not even doing night activities right now. HEre there is a win-win situation for everybody, you invest little, work and learn about running a hostel and I give you a bar-restaurant to run which already has 70 potential clients next door.
