Looking for a good place to invest
Just a little more then a year ago I was writing here with a try to find an investment for our hostel, and we actually opened! Moreover, now it’s already time to expand!
So we want to open 2nd hostel somewhere in Europe (we have several ideas about the destinations but any ideas are welcome ) and we are looking for a partner/manager
We need a person with a great idea where to open the hostel, who speaks local language, who probably knows the hostel regulations in the country, and who is just dreaming of managing the hostel but has no money to start.
Send me PM if you are interested!
Cheers,
Lyuba

Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) does not have a single hostel. It´s probably Czech´s #2 tourist destination, after Prague.

Do you think that Verona (Italy) would be a good idea?
We are going to build an hostel in the city because there are no one and Verona is a great city full of tourist in every time of the year.
We now own a perfect land to build the Hostel, between center and highway near the airport, the big city fair and hospitals.
I can help you in everything you need because i live here and i worked in Plus Hostel Chain for 2 Years at Plus Prague so i know country regulations, politics and prices and how to create aand manage an hostel from zero!
I'm sure it will be a success!
If you are still interested write me at

Klaus, Karlovy Vary is nice place, but it seems to be one-day-city? does people need to stay there really?

True. But Karlovy Vary is certainly more intresting than Pecs - and there are SIX hostels in Pecs.

And all six are empty. ;)
The number of hostels doesn't show how busy a city is indeed, but how many people thought to have an opportunity there. Just look at Budapest, 50% of the hostels are empty besides the two busiest month during summer. What are they doing in the rest of the year is mistery...

Well, let´s say they´re 5/6 empty. If there would be just one, it would do well enough. I still think it´s odd that a major tourist destination like Karlovy Vary has not a single hostel.

Klaus, Karlovy Vary is rather not suitable. I will explain you why. It is a small city that is and always has been traditionally russian destination. The tourist flow mostly consists of eldery guys who are staying in 3-4* hotels that are there all over the place. Beeing honest with you there is not many things to do down there for a usual backpacker.
If you compare KV to Cesky Krumlov or even to Marianske Lazne, KV has no chance agains them. It is just that people know KV more than other similar cities, which actually are even nicer and better in terms of architecture, surroundings, nature around and atmosphere in genereal.
I am not completely sure if KV is a nice place to start a new hostel... unless you have your own flow. As the majority of those hotels down there, who work directly with tour operators in Russia.
