I am forced some times to use the common room as a dorm room.
It happened that I had some over bookings and I was forced to do some changes with my rooms and the common room used to serve me as a dorm room.
The room links to another rooms and to the kitchen.
Is it actually ALLOWED in some cases to experiment like this ?

Regulations will differ around the world, and I'm not sure what the fire regulations would be in any individual country, but in a lot of places I'd be very wary of doing this, as putting in more people than you officially have beds for may well contravene fire regulations. You'd also have to think seriously about whether there were issues about blocking routes to fire exits with sleeping people. In the event of problems, this could leave you in a very difficult legal situation.

I've used a part of the common area in the past as a dorm room but only when people arrive late at night and there are no other places to send them to.
I was lucky that the area I used was not immediately visible to other guests so it wasn't too obvious that people were sleeping there!!!

After one month of experimenting , I agree that it does not work out.
it reflects on reviews , rating , tourists discomphort and of course as a result , it reflects to the success of the business , I mean reputation , income and so on.

Sometimes you have to try it to believe it, the outcome you ended with would be the only outcome.
A hostel is not a kennel, a flop house or a squat.
a hostel with-out a common area defeats what should be the purpose of a hostel.
If you don't have a common room you should move from being a hostel to suppling private accomidation.
