What Boardgames Should a Hostel Stock

What boardgames do you think hostels should invest in?

We used to play a lot of TSR boardgames when I was a kid that seem to be out of print -- like They've Invaded Pleasantville, King of the Tabletop (free download), Saga, and Car Wars. Not sure how they would hold up 25 years later though :)

Amazing, I just went on a board game buying spree last week....I forgot to get poker chips...nice idea...
I would add Jenga to the list.
I also got the new world edition Monopoly, which uses credit cards instead of cash, will be interesting to see how that goes.
And Simpsons Cluedo which I bet will be a hit.

Yes! There are several versions of Jenga available too: standard, truth or dare, life-sized, etc. Any of them would be a hit.

We got the WA-DC version of Monopoly, we also got a Guitar and a pool table. All are good amenities, but obviously a hostel needs a bit of space for a Pool table.

- Pictionary (this is an awesomeeeeeeeeee game to play in big groups)

I already gave all games and prices to my boss. He, of course refused, because there´s too many things marked as priorities but still, I think is a great way of stablishing a friendly environment.
Music instruments are a MUST: Guitar, Flute, tambourines, maracas.
And then for the outside
- Foosball
- ping pong
- Bycicles
PLaystation and a dvd player are good choices if it´s a small hostel and you can keep an eye on them.

If a hostel is going to have a guitar, remember to have a supply of picks behind the FD.

In the mornings chess and backgammon are very popular over long cups of coffee.
In the evenings people play Perudo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perudo over long cold beers. So popular that I have had to get a second set.

I could beat anyone at this game. We call it GENERALA it´s like poker but with dice.
