I am looking to open a hostel in the San Juan area. I am currently managing a hostel in the San Juan area and there is plenty of room for growth. There are only three hostels here now, and all three of them are booked almost every night. We have to turn people away on a constant basis.

Opening a hostel in San Juan would take a small investment compared to most countrys and the laws governing hostels are few. There is also a great need for more backpacker freindly places to stay. At present there are no hostels near the beach, this is where I would like to place a hostel. I have also been looking a propertys that have a pool, due to the price of property on the coast. I have found several places that would do nicely, and would be able to charge a more resonable rate than the other hostels in the area ( they are about $25 a night for a mixed dorm). I feel that the price is high for a hostel and would like to keep the nightly rate for a mixed form around $15. I already have several people willing to do a work exchange program at the hostel, and a list of guest that are awaiting the open. There is a great need for a safe, clean , affordable and fun place to stay in San Juan.
