Looks like a good system, easy to use and the rate is cheap.
I'm just not sure if the demand is there (at least where we are). I'll have to ask my guests if they would like the option to pay in BTC...
DC POS is a point-of-sale system we have developed that enables over-the-counter merchants to easily accept bitcoin in exchange for their goods and services. It's easy to use & supports a choice of wallet/payment processor providers. Our page has straight-forward guides to the merchant process of accepting bitcoin for your over-the-counter goods and services.
It is our expectation that many travelers, and users of hostels, will want to use bitcoin as a method of payment for the services that hostels offer. The main benefit is that it doesn't require conversion into any fiat currency for the transaction, so banks and exchange companies can be avoided, and the only money that needs to change hands doesn't happen until the time of purchase. On a plus side for hostels, the exchange is non-reversible, so you have less to worry about with accepting credit cards. It has the benefit of a cash transaction, without the risk to the customer of carrying large volumes of money.
We enable choice of wallet and rate providers, and offer great reporting tools and user-level controls. Merchants can easily select and change between 4 different wallet/payment processor providers - BitPay, Coinjar, Blockchain.info and Coinbase, and the list is growing. It is hardware, OS, and browser agnostic. It runs on any tablet or smart-phone. This freedom of choice gives merchants access to payment, banking and storage arrangements that best suit them.

Thanks.
As with all things of this nature, I think there is a bit of education involved. If you had some indication of the country of origin of a guest, I could probably help explain where the savings could be demonstrated. As you're based in oz, I'm assuming that the bulk of your visitors would be from the UK, Ireland, Germany, France etc. It is actually people from these countries that would most benefit from using bitcoin to transfer money between countries. A quick check of the NAB exchange rate fees shows :
... the spread between UK buy/sell is 0.5183/0.5696 or 91%, a greater than 9% spread. If you do it via a credit card, it's probably going to be higher.
Again in the example of the UK, you could do that entire exchange for about 1%

That's got to add up, especially if you're traveling.
