Here is a new comedy web series called Hard Knocks Hostel. It’s about two disillusioned hostel receptionists working in a dysfunctional hostel in rural Ireland.
Imagine having a good cathartic rant to vent your frustrations to a colleague after a particularly long and difficult shift. These guys took that sentiment and put it in the form of a video.
The series was written and directed by Karen Murphy, who works in Barnacles Hostel in Galway City, Ireland.
Only the first episode is online at the moment, but there will be more to come in the near future.

What do you think?
The series is geared towards an inside crowd within the industry. Hostel workers will probably be able to relate to some of the frustrations. Hopefully most of us are not quite as jaded as the characters though :) Would backpackers understand the humor too, or do you think they would take offense? What about people who have never stayed in a hostel?

*edit - this actually has made my morning. Literally just before this I had some angsty guests coming down for their wifi fix. No hello, nothing, just "can I have the wifi password?". Good morning to you too! Someone needs to set up rehab centres for net addiction.
