Any PMS developed interested in China market?

Thanks for your explanations but frankly pms is too critical and any downtime (even a minute more) during the check in and out will easily cause dissatisfactions among the generally impatient customers.

I'd be more confident for an Evernote-like cloud based service which offers a client with a function of syncing data whenever possible.

To temporarily save the data of the day will mean extra manual works. And the staff may need to move all the offline data back to online and these two sources of data may potentially causes more mistakes which sometimes could be fatal (imagine if the staff let someone check in into a room occupied by a couple who is doing their private business).

I'll try the system to see how it works, but a client-based pms with a cloud-backup service fits my hostel better at the moment. Mobile internet is a possible solution but it's just not so cheap in china.

A local system with a cloud copy (or the other way around) is surely a good high availability concept. However, this means 2 PMS systems (that additionally must sync each other). I don't know whether something like this exists but if so it will very likely cost the price of 2 PMS systems.

Yes, these solutions do exist. The cost is also not of two PMS systems either....

We have a number of clients located in places where the internet is inconsistent or has poor bandwidth. A copy of the db on site at the property, and then a copy of the db at the cloud host.

Gives a couple of beneficial scenarios. The PMS is always connected to the online channels at the cloud host. Bookings are stored in the cloud host, and synced to the local PMS database every few minutes. If the internet goes down, the hotel or hostel still carries on checking in, out and posting everything. The online bookings still work.

When the internet connection comes back online, all bookings are pushed to the property.

Not a common set-up, but is one that is commercially available right now, using industry standard and well proven technology techniques.

Clients we have operating like this are perhaps in desert locations (here in Australia for example), Fijiian and Maldivian Islands, as well as a particular client who is located in an internet black hole (has a 256k connection) only a few miles form one of our largest Australian cities.
